Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley will be in Great Falls on Monday to campaign on behalf of fellow Republican Steve Daines, who is seeking a second six-year term to the U.S. Senate.
Haley, a former governor of South Carolina, will be in Great Falls at 3 p.m. Daines staff did not give details as to where she would appear. They said she would highlight the importance of winning this race and keeping Republican control of the U.S. Senate.
She will make stops earlier in the day at Hamilton and Kalispell.
Daines faces Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock in the race. Democrats hope a victory will help them gain a majority in the U.S. Senate. Election Day is Nov. 3, but mail-in ballots were sent out Oct. 9.
Haley served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President Donald Trump from 2017-2018. She was governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, the first female and Indian American to serve in this office.
