Greenville, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump is expected to speak in Greenville on June 5. Trump will attend the North Carolina Republican Party’s 2021 state convention.
Trump previously made appearances in Greenville in 2020 and 2019 during his term as president as he campaigned for re-election. Trump won the presidential battleground state of North Carolina over Democratic nominee and current president Joe Biden in November.
Trump also won North Carolina in 2016 against challenger Hillary Clinton.
“President Trump won North Carolina in 2016 by promising to put America First, and he won North Carolina in 2020 by keeping that promise,” said NC GOP Chairman Michael Whatley.
“President Trump delivered real results for North Carolina by rebuilding the military, standing strong against China, and unleashing the American Economy. We are honored to welcome President Trump to our convention as the Republican Party launches our campaign to retake Congress and the Senate in the 2022 midterms.”
Trump and his family were frequent visitors to North Carolina in the months leading up to the 2020 election, holding gatherings in Fayetteville, Winston-Salem and Greenville.
