Manny’s: WTF Is Going On with the California Recall?

We’re bringing in three top journalists who cover California politics to give us the lay of the land about the upcoming recall. If anyone can help decipher the confusion around this election and answer any other question you have, it’s our panelists.

The stakes of the upcoming recall are huge.

Why are we even having a recall?

Is there a real chance that Governor Newsom is removed from office?

If so, who would replace him?

Why is the ballot so confusing?

How are the Democrats doing in rejecting the recall?

What level of turnout are we seeing?

How are mail-in ballots impacting the forecast of this election?

Journalists Carla Marinucci of POLITICO, Joe Garofoli of the SF Chronicle, & Doug Sovern of CBS Radio is coming to Manny’s to discuss!

The structure of this event will be about 45 minutes of discussion with the panel followed by small break out groups where YOU can meet some new folks and discuss what you just heard. We hope to help solicit a more collaborative discussion and hear the diverse stories in our city. We will be checking vaccine cards for this event.

Manny’s never turns away anyone for lack of funds. To receive a complimentary ticket just email the word “grapefruit” and the title of this event to tomas@welcometomannys.com.

This event will be in person at Manny’s but there will also be a Zoom link ticket for those who’d like to tune in digitally from the comfort of their home.
