OHA projects decline in cases, hospitalizations

The rate of new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations could continue to decline in the coming weeks, according to new modeling released by the Oregon Health Authority on Friday.

According to the forecast, the effective reproduction rate of the coronavirus — how many new cases each case is expected to generate — was 0.88 on August 25, significantly down from the most recent peak of around two in mid-July.
