‘Stop interfering’: Assam foreigners’ tribunal member writes to NRC coordinator

The letter comes after a recent circular by the state NRC coordinator Hitesh Dev Sharma asked members of foreigners’ tribunals (FTs) not to consider draft NRC and its supplementary list as reliable evidence for disposal of cases, saying it was not the final list.

Manik Saha takes oath as Tripura chief minister

Manik Saha replaced Biplab Kumar Deb as the chief minister of Tripura. Saha was administered the oath of secrecy by governor Satyadeo Narain Arya at a brief ceremony at Raj Bhawan.



Manik Saha, a popular dentist who joined the BJP in 2015, was made the chief of the party’s Tripura unit in 2020. He became the BJP’s first Rajya Sabha member from Tripura this year. (Twitter/Mani Saha)

Delhi Police had filed a zero FIR, which can be filed from anywhere in the country, after the women brought allegations of rape against Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi’s son Rohit Joshi. The alleged sexual assault took place under Delhi’s Sadar Bazar police station jurisdiction, the complainant said.
