People Fuming Over Instagram Stories Glitch

People have been left fuming over a glitch in the Stories function on Instagram

The bug meant that social media users had to rewatch other app users’ stories in their entirety before being able to see their new ones.

Previously, the stories function would allow photo-sharing fanatics to scroll through people’s stories consecutively, without having to re-watch previously seen pictures.

Now, fans of the site have expressed their anger at the mishap, with some going as far to say that they wouldn’t be returning to Instagram until it was fixed.

“I refuse to watch y’all Instagram stories over and over again. Instagram just won’t see me till they get it fixed,” one social media user tweeted.

Someone else asked: “Wtf is going on with Instagram stories forcing me to watch people’s stories from the beginning even if I’ve seen it?”

“Is anyone else’s Instagram making them rewatch the whole of people’s Instagram stories every time they put a new one up,” another asked.

A different user complained of the same issue, writing: “Why is Instagram making me view the same stories 100 times?”

“Is anyone else’s Instagram stories being weird? I keep having to view the same ones I ALREADY VIEWED! it’s p***ing me off omfg.”

Instagram seems to have since resolved the issue, however, with a new version of the app being available to iOs users on the App Store.

The updated app’s notes state that ‘the latest version contains bug fixes and performance improvements’, with social media users reporting that updating the app seems to fix the problem.

Other users are now being urged to check their app’s version number, which should be 239.1 for the update which fixes the glitch.

“If y’all update Instagram through the app store, you won’t have to watch everybody’s story from the beginning.”

“Update your Instagram app, it’ll fix it,” added another.

“If you force update the app in the app store it seems to fix it. It was driving me nuts too,” someone else wrote.

A different user advised: “It’s an easy fix. Go to App Store, and search Instagram. Then hit update. I have automatic updates and for some reason, it didn’t update, but once I did it manually, the problem was solved.”

A representative of Meta previously told LADbible: “Earlier today, some people were having trouble accessing Instagram Stories.

“We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
