New Delhi:

India on Monday recorded 12,781 fresh COVID-19 cases that pushed its infection tally to 4,33,09,473, while the number of active cases increased to 76,700, according to Union health ministry data.

The death count climbed to 5,24,873 with 18 fresh fatalities.

The active cases comprise 0.17 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.62 per cent, the health ministry said.

An increase of 4,366 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.89 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 2.50 per cent, the ministry said.

A total of 8,537 people have been recovered from the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,27,07,900. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.62 per cent.

The daily positivity rate stands at 4.32 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 2.62 per cent.

New Zealand reports 4,024 new COVID-19 community cases

New Zealand recorded 4,024 new community cases of COVID-19 and nine more deaths from the pandemic, the Ministry of Health said on Monday. Among the new community infections, 1,250 were reported in the largest city Auckland, the ministry said.

In addition, 53 new cases of COVID-19 were detected at the New Zealand border.

China reports 14 fresh local COVID-19 cases

China reported 14 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, including four in Beijing and 10 in Shanghai in the past 24 hours, according to the National Health Commission’s report Monday. A total of 10 local asymptomatic carriers were newly identified in six provincial-level regions, Xinhua News Agency reported citing the municipal health commission.

As of Sunday, 95 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after which the recovered person tally reached 219,215, the National Health Commission said in its Monday report.

A total of 8,537 people have been recovered from the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,27,07,900. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.62 per cent.

The daily positivity rate stands at 4.32 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 2.62 per cent.

849 new COVID-19 cases in Thane

Thane has reported 849 new cases of coronavirus, raising the infection count in the Maharashtra district to 7,18,884, an official said on Monday.

These new cases were recorded on Sunday, he said.

There was no report of any fatality and the death toll in the district stood at 11,898, he said, adding that the COVID-19 mortality rate in Thane is 1.67 per cent.

Maharashtra logs 4,004 COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 4,004 fresh COVID-19 cases, including 2,087 in Mumbai, and one fatality, taking the tally to 79,35,749 and the toll to 1,47,886, the state health department said.
A day earlier the state had reported 3,883 cases and two COVID-19 fatalities.

Maharashtra is now left with 23,746 active cases after 3,085 patients were discharged on Sunday, taking the tally of recoveries to 77,64,117, the department said in a statement.

A total of 41,823 tests were conducted on Sunday, raising the number of samples tested so far in the state to 8,16 03,506.

Delhi logs 1,530 new cases, positivity rate at 8.41%

Delhi reported 1,530 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the Delhi government health bulletin on Sunday.

The national capital recorded 5,542 active cases.

The bulletin said that 3,88,76,508 tests for coronavirus have been conducted so far and 37,501 persons were vaccinated against the disease in the last 24 hours.

A positivity rate of 8.41 per cent was observed in the last 24 hours and the country’s total COVID-19 active cumulative positive cases stood at 19,22,089.
