As political discussion continues after the recent midterm elections are you looking for ways to improve the outcomes of conversations you might have with people of differing opinions?

The La Grange Area League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area is holding an informative program that will include a webinar providing recent examples of misinformation, according to a news release.

In addition, strategies to debunk misinformation and how to talk to someone whose beliefs are fueled by it will be discussed. Information will be included on how to make those conversations productive and nonconfrontational, hopefully resulting in positive outcomes, the release saod. Discussion with the audience will be woven in throughout the evening.

The work of the News Literacy Project will also be introduced, a nonpartisan organization, committed to providing programs and resources that give people the tools to critically evaluate social media and print information, the release said. Online resources are available from this organization as well as others that will be part of the conversation.

The program will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave., La Grange, 708-215-3200. No advance registration is required.
