1994 – Mum Linda Webster with Jack, 2, and Christie, six weeks, who were both ‘sugar bag’ babies, weighing just over 2lb when they were born, 11 weeks early in both cases, at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

Mother’s Day has been celebrated across the world since the early 1900s, with Aberdeen and the north-east no exception.

We buy flowers and cards, take them out to dinner and treat the women who hold that very special place in our lives and hearts.

And it doesn’t have to be limited to those who birthed us, grandparents, aunties, step-mothers and even in-laws deserve to have their hard work and dedication in raising the next generations recognised.

And when we look back, we can also spend time reminiscing about those we’ve lost and remembering them.

From cradling newborns in the maternity hospital to mum makeovers and playtime, we’ve searched our archives to celebrate Mother’s Day. Can you spot any familiar faces?
