Some loved it, some didn’t.

However, it’s safe to say the Rangers organization took a big swing trying to include an entire region of baseball fans with their new look.

Many chimed in with their opinions, including uniform savant Paul Lukas, more commonly known around the social media space as @UniWatch, and while there were some pieces that Lukas appreciated, the overall vibe told a different tale.

“This feels like a weird mishmash of elements that don’t cohere very well,” Lukas said. “I do like that the whole thing is based on baseball history (not just local history), but it’s not a very effective uniform.”

The Rangers will wear the uniforms for the first time on Friday and Saturday when they host the Oakland Athletics at Globe Life Field. The team will then wear the uniforms every remaining Friday home game during the 2023 season.
