Akron judge chosen for bar association’s Diversity Award

Akron Judge David Hamilton recently received the Akron Bar Association’s 2023 Diversity Award.

The award celebrates a business, organization or person who shows a commitment to diversity and inclusion in Summit County.

Hamilton received the award during the annual Law Day Luncheon, which was part of the bar’s Law Week events.

Hamilton, who is the administrative/presiding judge in Akron Municipal Court, also recently received the Humanitarian Award during the Harold K. Stubbs Virtual Awards Celebration and was appointed to the Ohio Supreme Court’s Commission for Professional Responsibility.

“Being a good role model for the next generation is important to me,” Hamilton said in a news release. “I love what I do, but it is truly an honor to know that my hard work has been recognized.”
