Fans attending the Los Angeles Chargers-Miami Dolphins game did a double take while others were startled at seeing AI robots at SoFi Stadium Sunday.
The blank-faced robots were seen throughout the stadium, causing fans to wonder what was going on.
They were seen on the sideline, walking through the concourse and sitting in the stands. Some of the robots wore replicas of Chargers’ jerseys, others wore suits with the name “Creator. The robots weren’t humans acting as robots, but real robots.
The human fans didn’t know what to think of their fellow fans, but their curiosity turned into fascination after watching them act like human fans – cheering, high-fives, back-and-forth talk – during the game.
The “robots” were placed in the stadium to promote the upcoming 20th Century Studios movie, “The Creator,” which focuses on an existential war between humans and AI robots. John David Washington and Gemma Chan star in the movie.
Here’s the official synopsis of the movie.
“Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua (Washington), a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife (Chan), is recruiting to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war … and mankind itself. Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI territory … only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child”
Here’s the official trailer for the movie.
“The Creator” is scheduled to open in theaters Sept. 29.
