EastEnders viewers have been quick to point out a “glaring blunder” during Wednesday’s episode of the BBC One soap (March 6). In the latest trip to Walford, Lily Slater found herself needing a babysitter and roped in Sonia Fowler to help out.

Sonia has been left feeling disheartened after Whitney Dean kept her pregnancy a secret from her. The nurse struggling to conceive and is currently undergoing IVF treatment in hopes of having a baby with her partner Reiss. However, Sonia was soon distracted by Lily who was panicking in the Mini Mart as she had forgotten a school commitment and had no one available to care for baby Charli.




Lily asked Sonia to take care of the tot before racing out the shop to get back to school. Sonia headed to Lily’s house to care for Charli, but was seen struggling to soothe the baby.

Sitting down on the sofa with the tot, Sonia accidently switched the TV on, and Charli stopped crying as she looked at the television screen, which was showing an episode of BBC series, Flog It!. In another scene, Sonia was seen cradling Charli in a pink blanket as she glanced over at the TV and reminisced of when her daughter was a baby.

Looking down at Charli, Sonia said: “My Bex used to like Bargain Hunt. Course, it was David Dickinson back then, not this new bloke. But I think you’ve got very good taste. See? It ain’t so bad is it?”

She continued: “You know the best ones are the ones you don’t expect. They all go for gold and silver, but it ain’t worth much any more. Teaspoons, an old pot…but every now and again, someone makes a fortune out of an old coat rack, just teaches you doesn’t it? Life doesn’t always go to plan.”

Becoming emotional, she said: “You’ve just got to hope it turns out right in the end. See I’m doing it now, we’re a right pair aren’t we?”. However, EastEnders fans quickly noticed a blunder as Sonia was watching the BBC show Flog It and not Bargain Hunt, leaving the amused.
