Dillon Danis criticizes Dana White after UFC Shanghai debacle

Controversial fighter Dillon Danis took aim at UFC CEO Dana White following a tense post-fight incident in Shanghai. Chinese star Song Yadong pulled off a massive upset by knocking out Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event. 

As Yadong ran inside the Octagon to celebrate his victory, Usman Nurmagomedov rushed into the cage, causing the two fighters to collide in a chaotic scene. Danis quickly jumped on social media to accuse Usman of trying to attack the winning fighter. He voiced intense frustration over the situation, claiming White allows Dagestani fighters to break rules without facing real consequences. 

While Usman may have simply been rushing in to check on his knocked-out brother, his aggressive posture raised plenty of eyebrows. The near-brawl ruined what should have been a clean celebration for the hometown favorite. The unexpected loss also derailed Umar’s immediate plans for a bantamweight title shot.

White Bans Dillon Danis’ Involvement In UFC 322

Danis’s public attack on White carries extra weight due to his own stormy history with the promotion. Following a wild brawl involving Islam Makhachev’s team at UFC 322, Danis was forcibly escorted out of the building by security. 

Addressing the media after the event, White revealed that Danis was wandering around restricted fighter seating areas without permission. Outraged by the chaos, the UFC boss announced a permanent ban on the social media star. White vowed that Danis would never be allowed to attend or participate in another UFC event again.

Despite his official lifetime ban, Danis continues to monitor and critique every major UFC event from afar. He maintains that he was not in the wrong during the Madison Square Garden melee. His ongoing rivalry with the Dagestani camp keeps him constantly involved in online combat sports drama.

The UFC President Did Not Press Any Charges

Even though White imposed a strict venue ban, he chose not to pursue legal action against Danis after the brawl. Arena security offered to have the fighter arrested on the spot, but White explicitly turned down the offer. 

White admitted that his own staff failed to prevent the security breach before things escalated out of control. As he felt responsible for the breakdown in event security, he decided against involving law enforcement. The decision allowed Danis to walk away from the chaotic night without facing formal criminal charges.
