Political podcasts continue to shape the way millions access news and opinion as the Political Podcast Awards return for a third year in 2027.
The awards, sponsored by YouTube and organised by iNHouse Communications, will take place on 2 February 2027 in Westminster, once again hosted by broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth.
Podcasts can now submit entries across nine categories, with nominations closing on 16 October 2026.
This year, a new category has been introduced: Independent Podcast of the Year, designed to recognise the achievements of self-starters, students, and those outside the traditional Westminster circuit.
Last year’s awards saw nearly 100 entries, with winners including Political Currency, Electoral Dysfunction, the News Agents, Quite Right, and Politics at Sam and Anne’s. Laura Beveridge of PoliticsJOE was recognised as Rising Star.
Organisers expect even more entries this year, reflecting the growing diversity and reach of political podcasting in the UK and internationally.
The judging panel will be chaired by Anne Alexander, Head of Politics at Good Morning Britain.
After nominations close, the panel will select winners across categories such as Best Newcomer, Comedy Moment of the Year, Interview of the Year, Most Original Format, Presenter of the Year, Producer of the Year, Rising Star, and Story of the Year.
Katie Perrior, chair of iNHouse Communications and founder of the awards, commented: “This year has proven that a week is no longer a long time in British politics – try an hour.
“That relentless news agenda has driven an extraordinary appetite for political podcasts, and iNHouse has been at the heart of the action from day one.
“Now in our third year, the Political Podcast Awards are back – in a sector that is nowhere near finished growing. I can’t wait to see who the winners are!”
Host Gyles Brandreth added: “The range of winners in previous years has been extraordinary, all the big names are there, but there are some surprises too! This is the Awards ceremony you want to be a part of.”
Entries are now open for all categories, with further details available on the Political Podcast Awards website.
