Social media icon and boxer Logan Paul isn’t widely regarded as a shining example of intelligence or solid decision-making. He’s had more controversies in his career than one can remember without going down a rabbit hole.
This is the man who filmed a video of a lifeless body from a Japan forest, and said that he was going to “go gay for just one month” for “male-only March”.
He later gave an apology after he was called out by organizations such as GLAAD for being insensitive to LGBTQ people.

So some people — particularly after the one-month “gay” stunt — may find it a bit surprising that he said on a recent podcast that he believes being gay is something that happens from birth and not a choice that people make later in life.

Our weekly newsletter is packed with everything from locker room chatter to pressing LGBTQ sports issues.
“I’m a straight man, as far as I know, and I don’t know why I am that way other than I think I was born to be attracted to women. There are plenty of gay people on the planet who I believe were born in the same way but were attracted to those of the same sex.
“There are just too many people who are attracted to the same sex to be like, oh, this is either A an anomaly or B they’re choosing this lifestyle.
“Especially because it could be argued that that lifestyle, at least optically and publicly, comes with some things that make living a little harder, especially when it comes to judgment from other people, judgment from religions.”

The full interview is from the IMPAULSIVE and Bryce Crawford Podcast. The conversation was from a larger debate between Paul and his co-host, Crawford, about religion and gay people. Crawford is a Christian social media influencer.
Not everyone on social media thought that Paul should be commended for espousing what is accepted largely as truth by many people. Still, when someone chooses to learn from their ignorance, it’s newsworthy.
Hopefully, the Paul brothers can keep improving their stances and teach others to do the same.
