On The Traitors: New Blood Premiere — Episode 1 (“A New Dawn Rising”), and Episode 2 (“I’m a Sweaty Boy”)

22 U.S. players are invited to the Scottish Highlands to play in the new season of Traitors: New Blood. Unlike past U.S. seasons, which are primarily filled with celebrities and reality show stars, this season is all civilian players. They are competing for $250,000 plus a new element of $15,000 added for each Traitor the Faithful banish

In “A New Dawn is Rising,” the players arrive at the castle and learn of the new financial incentive for catching Traitors. Alan selects Joe and Tomica as the first two Traitors, but says there are still more Traitors to come. The two Traitors learn they each have to pick an apprentice, and at the end of the next day, one of them will become a Traitor, and the other one will be murdered.

They choose Xavier and Katie, hoping to capitalize on the chatter from the younger generation in the castle.

At the first challenge, the team banks $50,000, but Victor rubs some people the wrong way by immediately going for a shield when the challenge begins. As the episode ends on a murder cliffhanger and rolls into “I’m a Sweaty Boy,” we learn the Traitors selected “Coach Kim” to be murdered, mainly because she was very smart.

At the first Roundtable, several people confront Victor about going for a shield, but Kriste says she heard Madeline say “I hated picking Kim,” which Madeleine denies. It sways enough votes, and Madeleine is the first person banished, revealing herself as a Faithful.

The episode ends with Xavier and Katie trying to retrieve two separate death warrants from books that they can deliver to the Traitors to prove they deserve to stay.
