Funny farce, ‘Drinking Habits’ at Red Barn Theatre | Free News

The hilarious farce, “Drinking Habits,” is sure to entertain Red Barn audiences when it runs July 29-August 8.

In Tom Smith’s comedy, two nuns of the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing secretly sell wine to keep the convent afloat. Mayhem happens when two investigative reporters (and former fiancés) go undercover as a priest and nun to expose them.

Roger Sweeney directs a cast of 8 which includes Sarah Miller (Cumberland) as Sister Philomena and Rachel Westberg (Chetek) as Sister Augusta. Also on stage, Steve Demers (Rice Lake) plays George; Kathryn Jensen (Poskin) portrays Mother Superior; Tommy Yousten (Cumberland) plays Paul; Linda Berglund (Spooner) portrays Sally; Shannon Minner (Cumberland) plays Sister Mary Catherine; and Ed Hougdahl (Turtle Lake) portrays Father Chenille. Rick Snyder is the set designer.

The featured artist in the Red Barn Gallery for this run is Andrea Koeferl of Ladysmith. Inspired by nature, she works in several different mediums including chainsaw carving, pyrography, tile mosaic, watercolor, rustic tables and carved benches
