A hip-hop artist, city high school substance abuse and violence prevention counselor and motivational book author from Jamaica is now a podcaster.
Late last month, the Chronicle reached out to Robert Torres, also known as Sabor Latino, which means Latin Flavor, to learn more about his podcast, “A Learning Moment with Sabor Latino (Un Momento De Aprendizaje con Sabor Latino),” which has 10 episodes in English and Spanish.
People may find the English episodes on iHeart.com at this link: tinyurl.com/ykjx7xk8. People may also find both the English or Spanish episodes by signing up for RSS.com and searching for the podcast.
“The podcast aims to inspire, motivate and support personal growth through my life experiences and reflections,” said Torres via email.
The podcaster said guests from all walks of life who have a learning moment to share to inspire youth and the community will be invited.
Some of the key focuses of the Dominican-Puerto Rican-American rapper’s podcast are motivation and hope; self-esteem and personal love; educational insights; and cultural and social awareness.
Torres says the purpose of the self-improvement and mental health podcast is to help people from being discouraged during challenging times, which can be hard to navigate, and to realize that everyone has talent, a vision and dreams worth pursuing.
The motivational author hopes to produce 50 episodes each in English and Spanish over the course of 5 seasons, for a total of 100 episodes.
