A funny trailer has been released for the stoner comedy The Wrong Girls, starring Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat, along with LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale, Zack Fox, Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, Kate McKinnon, Geena Davis, and Cate Blanchett.
The movie is written and directed by Dylan Meyer in her feature directorial debut, after previously writing the scripts for the films XOXO and Moxie.
The synopsis reads: “Frankie & Molly (Kristen Stewart & Alia Shawkat) are codependent boneheads who have spent the last 10 years blissfully in a fog of weed smoke, co-signing each others’ bad choices and screening adulthood’s increasingly insistent calls.
“Just as Molly’s boyfriend asks her to move in with him, Frankie is mistakenly given a briefcase full of glowing vials of an experimental psychedelic. That briefcase turns out to be the beginning of the trouble… The drugs leave Frankie & Molly with lingering telepathic abilities, including a connection to their cats.
“Their possession of the drugs also puts them in the path of white-suited Danish villains who want their property back and begin to see Frankie & Molly as disposable human test subjects.”
This comedy looks like a hilarious good time with a great cast to deliver it. Check out the trailer below, and watch The Wrong Girls in theatres on August 14th.
