LANSING, Ill. (April 3, 2025) – One of the outcomes of the global interest in Dolton Mayor/Thornton Township Supervisor Tiffany Henyard has been the genuine community that developed online and in real life. YouTubers covering the drama from far away began to care about the people and places that were part of the story.
Dear Woke Christian is the YouTube name of Jason Whitaker, a podcaster and livestreamer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s been following the Henyard chronicle for 10 months or more. Last month he reached out to The Lansing Journal to let us know he would be in Dolton for three days in April. His tour of the area included locations featured in Henyard news stories — and he organized a meet-and-greet at Kdulche Cafe after learning about it from a Lansing Journal video. Managing editor Carole Sharwarko and Publisher Melanie Jongsma accepted the invitation and treated the guests to Lansing Journal Lattes.

What’s a Lansing Journal Latte?
The Lansing Journal Latte is a signature beverage created by Kdulche owner Eduardo Zepeda. The blend of caramel, chocolate, and vanilla flavors celebrate Lansing’s friendly diversity, and the rich espresso and cream evoke Lansing’s only newspaper.
The beverage is available only in Lansing, Illinois, only at Kdulche Cafe, 3521 Ridge Road in Lansing.
The Lansing Journal has created a “Love Lansing a Latte” shirt design to celebrate the unique partnership with Kdulche.

What’s “Lovin’ the Latte”?
The Lansing Journal invites anyone who orders a Lansing Journal Latte to take a photo and email it to [email protected] for publication. Make sure to include:
