CHICAGO (WLS) — An emergency response involving a United Airlines plane could be seen Thursday afternoon at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The FAA said a preliminary investigation found the flight blew a tire during takeoff.

United Airlines Flight 455, headed to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, was able to safely abort the takeoff after blowing a tire around 1:45 p.m., the FAA said.

Passengers were deplaned on the runway and taken by buses to a terminal, officials said. The plane is a Boeing 737-900.

United issued a statement, saying ” United flight 455 ended its takeoff roll after sustaining tire damage. Customers deplaned via airstairs and busses took them back to the terminal. We’re arranging for another aircraft to take them to Phoenix later today.”

Video posted online showed emergency responders around the United airplane.
